Ingredients

  • 2 cups white sugar

  • 1-½ cups water

  • ¾ cup light corn syrup

  • 1 cup peanuts

  • 1 tablespoon baking soda

  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

  • ½ stick of butter

Directions

  • In a tall pot over medium to medium high heat, stir together sugar, water and light corn syrup.
  • Bring to a boil.  
  • Stir with a large wooden or stainless steel spoon. 
  • Occasionally lift the spoon slightly and once it starts to spin a thread incorporate the peanuts.
  • Stir continuously until light golden brown and looks foamy.
  • Remove from the heat.
  • Continuously stirring, add in the baking soda, vanilla and butter.
  • Once butter melts, pour and spread onto cookie sheets lined with parchment paper and sprayed with oil.
  • Leave to cool completely to harden.

Notes

  • Using a tall pot or pan will prevent it from spilling over when making.
