Ingredients
2 cups oil
1 cup whole annatto seeds
Directions
- Heat oil over medium heat. When the oil is hot, add annatto seeds. Stir occasionally.
- When it begins to simmer, stir and leave for about 1-2 minutes then remove from heat.
- Leave to cool completely.
- Strain the oil into a glass container to remove the seeds. It is best to use a glass container with a lid for storage.
- If using a funnel to pour the achiote oil, I recommend spraying the funnel with oil to prevent it from staining.
